Within the last few months, the Longwood Fire Company purchased a total of 3 new ambulances to add to our fleet.

Our first delivery which we received is a 2016 Ford/Horton E-450 type III remount gasoline ambulance that came with all LED lighting, that we have placed a Stryker power Pro XT cot with the performance load system into it. This is an exciting addition to the Longwood Fire Company as it's adding a 4th ambulance/transport unit to our fleet when we previously only had 3 along with our medic chase responder vehicle. This unit will be considered 25-4 and when on the street serving our community will be called AMB254 or MIC254, depending on the certification level of the crew that's on duty that day.

Our second delivery which we received is a 2017 Ford/Braun F-450 type 1 4x4 with an extended diesel chassis that came with all LED lighting along with a master tech electrical system along with a lighting system provided by Whelen. We have also placed a Stryker power Pro XT cot with the performance load system into it. This ambulance will be replacing our former 2012 International/Horton Terrastar ambulance that we've had in service for some time. This unit will be considered 25-1 and when on the street serving our community will be called AMB251 or MIC251 depending on the certification level of the crew that's on duty that day.

Shortly, we should be receiving our third delivery which is the same as our second delivery that is a 2017 Ford/Braun F-450 type 1 4x4 with an extended diesel chassis. This new ambulance will be replacing our other former (we had 2 of the same) 2012 International/Horton Terrastar ambulance that we've had in service for some time. This unit will be considered 25-2 and when on the street serving our community will be called AMB252 or MIC252 depending on the certification level of the crew that's on duty that day.

We're excited about these new deliveries as it gives us the tools for us to properly serve our communities that we're proud to serve!

If you wish to come check out the new ambulances, ask questions, and see what we're all about, contact the fire company at 610-388-6880 and ask to speak with EMS Captain Matthew Eick to set up a day or e-mail him at MEick@Longwoodfireco.com. You're also more than welcome to stop by our station anytime you want at 1001 E Baltimore Pk, Kennett Square, PA and if we aren't out running calls we'd be more than happy to help you out!
