At 1456hrs the company was dispatched for an odor investigation in the Windovr Way section of East Marlborough Township. Asst. 25 (McCarthy) responded and was advised that the owner reported an odor of smoke in the dining room.
Asst. 25 arrived with normal conditions from a 2 story wood frame single family dwelling. The homeowner reported a fire in the bathroom. After observing a heavy volume of smoke from an unknown source, Asst. 25 established Windovr Command and requested the house fire assignment.
The upgrade brought the balance of Longwood, Po-Mar-Lin Fire Co (Station 36) and E-24-6 (Kennett Fire Co.)
E-25-1 (Syska) arrived and positioned in a neighbor's driveway and stretched a 1.75" crosslay through the garage. Ladder 25 (B. McCarthy) arrived and backed into the driveway of the residence.
E-1's officer reported a rag on top of a light fixture with a moderate smoke condition and that the incident was under control. Command scaled the incident back to 25 units and ENG 36.
Crews opened the interior wall to ensure that the fire didn't extend past the light fixture.
FM 102 (Kilmer) responded and determined that the fire was accidental.
Crews completed overhaul and ventilation. Units returned at 1618hrs.
