Longwood Fire Company will receive a technology makeover, courtesy of the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Partners Plus, and Microsoft Corp.
The fire company received the second-place prize in the Ultimate Technology Makeover contest, a new Chamber offering. The prize was announced at the Chamber's annual dinner on Jan. 15.
As part of the award, Partners Plus -- a Delaware-based computer system consulting company -- will audit the fire company's computer systems, provide daily monitoring of and antivirus software for its computers, and donate time to fixing computer issues, among other things, according to Partners Plus President Bill Hogan.
In addition, Microsoft will donate software to the fire company, including a copy of the recently released Windows 7 operating system. Microsoft's Mid-Atlantic Division is headquartered in Malvern, Delaware County.
