The 2nd annual Warm Weather Gear Drive is coming to a close. We will be accepting donations through Saturday 11/17 at our station. Donated items can be dropped off to our station at any time. More information of the items which can be donated are listed below in the press release from the program Coordinator from Kendal-Crosslands. We are extremely excited to be part of a great cause again this year. As a service organization to the Kennett Area communities this program aligns with our mission to help people in need.

Kennett Square – Area organizations throughout Southern Chester County partnered together for a second annual Warm Weather Gear Drive. Kennett Township Police Department, Southern Chester County Regional Police Department, Kennett Square Police Department, Unionville Presbyterian Church, Po-Mar-Lin Fire Department, Kennett Fire Department, Longwood Fire Company, Local Rotary Clubs, Kendal~Crosslands Communities, Exelon, and Genesis all participated this year. These organizations hosted collection bins at their facilities and together worked to warm the bodies and the hearts of many area families. Gently used coats, mittens, scarves, socks (new), hats, and snow pants for adults and children have been donated throughout the past few weeks. Recipients of the donated warm weather gear include: Family Promise of Southern Chester County, Maternal and Child Health Consortium, La Communidad Hispana, Young Moms/Dads, the Garage, and local schools.

“We work with community organizations, volunteers, and companies to help offer both adults and children a physical and emotional warmth with these generous donations”, said Annalie Lorgus, Pastor Unionville Presbyterian Church. A service will be held on Sunday, November 18th at 9am at Unionville Presbyterian to not only thank the area participants but recognize the recipient organizations. “Everyone is welcome to the service and should you wish to join us, you too can bring a warm gear donation”, said Lorgus.
