On May 22nd and 23rd the members attended an aerial ladder and tower ladder operations class. Also attending were members from the Concordville Fire and Protection Association, Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company and the Union Fire Co. #1.

The class was taught by Lt. Mike Wilbur of Emergency Vehicle Response. Lt. Wilbur is currently assigned to Ladder 27 of the FDNY. Lt. Wilbur is considered the premier expert in truck company positioning and operations as well as safe driving education. The class is designed to teach proper operations, placement and design of aerial apparatus.

Saturday's class consisted of classroom lecture covering aerial and tower ladder design, why they fail and how to avoid unsafe operations. Sunday morning consisted of a lecture on truck company functions, positioning and tactical considerations. The late morning and afternoon consisted of hands-on skill stations and real world scenarios on positioning aerial apparatus at a variety of construction types.

The Officers and Members would like to thank Lt. Wilbur for passing on your knowledge and skills to assist us on being a well educated truck company.

Special thanks goes to R.J. Waters & Associates for allowing us to use their properties at the Shoppes of Longwood, the Concordville Marriot and the Windsor at Brandywine.
