| At 2349 hrs the Logwood Fire Co was dispatched to the area of Rt. 52 North just south of Wawaset Rd in Pocopson Township for a motor vehicle collision reported serious. Units responded quickly and were advised that an off duty prison guard was on scene reported one patient trapped in the vehicle. Units arrived to find the accident to be south of Parkersville Rd. and found the conditions as reported and one patient still inside of the vehicle. MICU 25-3 began immediate patient care while RESCUE 25 and E-25-2 began vehicle stabilization to prepare for patient extrication. Aviation was requested for medical evacuation due to the condition of the patient.
Deputy 25 established Rt. 52 Command and assigned Chief 25 as the Operations Officer. All units were in service with an extrication time of less than 20 minutes utilizing various rescue tools from Rescue Squad and Rescue Engine. The patient was extricated and safely packed for transport to the landing zone which was established by E-25-1 at Pocopson Home. One patient was flown to an area trauma center for further treatment and evaluation. All units remained on scene for debris removal and cleanup.
All units were clear the scene and command was terminated at approx. 0100 hrs. |
