Mark Sunday, Oct. 16 on your calendars as Longwood Fire Company presents its annual open house and marks its 90th anniversary.

Meet the firefighters and emergency medical personnel who protect your community day and night. Watch as they demonstrate rescue techniques, and learn about the best ways to prevent fire.

In honor of the anniversary, there will be a display of Longwood Fire Company memorabilia over the past nine decades, including an American flag that last flew when James A. Garfield was president in the 19th century. That flag was last displayed during the fire company's 50th anniversary.
