On Friday June 29 at about 5:20am, the Po-Mar-Lin (Station 36), Longwood and Kennett (Station 24) Fire Companies were dispatched to Mill Road for the Mobile Home Fire after a line of strong storms rolled through the area. Assistant 36 (Wells) arrived with a working fire in a mobile home and instructed the first in Engine to advance a line into the structure. Engine 36 ran a line through the front door and quickly went to work extinguishing the blaze. As Engines from Longwood and Kennett arrived, they joined the effort of exposing and suppressing any fire that remained in the walls and ceiling of the home. Ladder 25 (A. McCarthy) arrived and split crews to throw ladders, clear any remaining windows and join in the overhaul operations. The fire was quickly brought under control and all units were clear of the scene shortly after. A neighbor of the property was kind enough to bake fresh muffins for all of the crews working at the scene. We all thank you for your kindness!!
