| At 1204hrs the LFC was alerted to assist Kennett Fire Company (Station 24) with a dwelling fire at Union and Cypress streets in the borough with reported residents trapped. Chief 24 arrived on location and confirmed a working kitchen fire. He instructed the first engine in to the rear of the dwelling for the initial fire attack. Engine 252 arrived to the rear and stretched a 1.75" attack line to the back door. Crews quickly knocked down the fire in the kitchen and performed a rapid search of the house. A dog was rescued from a second floor bedroom. The rest of the search turned up negative. Crews ventilated the house and checked for fire extension. The fire was contained to the kitchen on the first floor. The fire marshals are investigating the cause. No injuries were reported and the dog is said to be doing well at a local veterinarian. |
