Longwood Fire Company will be hosting a FREE training for Stop the Bleed. This training is being offered on May 28th 6:00pm at Longwood Fire Company. May is Stop the Bleed month. This class teaches the recognition and techniques to stop life threatening bleeding from an injury. Stop the Bleed is a national initiative being presented to communities, businesses, schools and other groups. This initiative was created by the American College of Surgeons after the many tragic active threat incidents leading to significant injuries and fatalities. This group of Physicians in partnership with National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and Military partners developed a class to teach bystanders how to control bleeding to prevent loss of life should they be involved in one of these horrific events. Thanks to The Kennett Run Charities Grant from 2018 we will be providing the training and giving away some bleeding control kits all free of charge. Please sign up for this training by emailing EMS@longwoodfireco.com or calling the station at (610) 388-6880.

Thank you Longwood Fire Company and Gabriel Gray for visiting our Boy Scout Troop to provide Stop the Bleed training. The Scouts were engaged and learned some valuable skills that went far beyond the basic First Aid they have all received in the past. The feed back fro the Scouts was that Mr. Gray did a great job.
