At 0517hrs the Company was alerted for the full company as a part of the working fire dispatch to assist Station 24, Kennett, on a house fire with entrapment. Kennett Fire Co #1, Hockessin (DE) Fire Co and Avondale Fire Company were alerted at 0508hrs for a house fire in the 1100blk of Kaolin Rd. Asst 23 (Decker) arrived with a house fully involved with one subject trapped.

E-25-1(Ruoss) and Ladder 25(Cressman) responded at 0524hrs with a total staff of 9. Longwood units arrived and were placed in the manpower pool awaiting an assignment. Chief 25 (Ruoss) was given the task of supervising the operations on the "A" side of the structure. Longwood crews assisted with fire suppression, overhaul and clean up.

The residence was overcome with clutter conditions both on the interior and exterior of the house making suppression very difficult. Crews worked for approx. 4 hours to contain and control the incident.

One resident was removed from the structure and was pronounced at the scene. The Company expresses their condolences to the family and asks that you keep them in your thoughts.

Thanks to West Bradford Fire Co, Lionville Fire Co and Goodfellowship Ambulance for covering our first due.
