| At 1304 hours, the Longwood Fire Co, along with Station 24 were dispatched for the boats units to assist DELCO 59 with a water rescue in the area of Rt. 1 and the Brandywine River Museum. Chief 25 responded and was advised that there were possibly 15 people who had been tossed into the river in that area of the dispatch. Units responded and were placed into service in the Brandywine River under the command of Chief 25 who had Brandywine CP at the request of DELCO 59. Boat 25 and Boat 24 were utilized in rescuing several patients who were stranded on and along the shore of the river after being thrown out of the rafts that they were traveling down the river in. Boat 53 was recalled en route after its services were no longer needed per Brandywine CP. All units worked diligently to assist DELCO 59 with the successful rescue of the victims involved in today's events. Two patients were transported to area hospitals for evaluation by DELCO EMS units. MICU 25-1 and MICU 25-2 provided mutual aid and rehab at the scene at the request of Brandywine CP. All units assisted in the clean-up of the equipment and were clear by 1506 hours. |
