| At 1510 hours, the Longwood Fire Co was dispatched to the area of Rt. 1 NB at Rt. 52 NB for an accident with unknown injuries. MICU 25-3 responded immediately and arrived on scene to find a three vehicle crash with a total of three patients. Upon assessing the number of patients, an additional BLS unit was requested from Station 24 through Chief 25. Rescue 25 arrived on scene with Chief 25 not far behind and Chief 25 assumed Rt. 1 command. MICU 25-3 crew handled assessment and treatment of all three patients while Rescue 25 performed debris and fluid cleanup. Traffic 25 was on scene handling traffic control at the busy intersection. MICU 25-3 obtained one refusal of service and transported two patients to a local emergency room for further evaluation. Services were not needed from AMB 24 after the third patient decided against being transported to the emergency room. AMB 24 was available from the scene. Longwood units remained on scene for traffic control and vehicle removal by a local towing service. |
