LFC Volunteers assist with high angle rescue in Wallace Twp

For the third time this weekend, the Longwood Fire Company was dispatched to another working house fire. Longwood, Kennett (Station 24), Hockessin (DE Station 19), Goodwill (Station 52 - RIT) and Po-Mar-Lin Fire (Station 36) Companies were dispatched to the 100 block of Hickory Hill Road for a reported dwelling fire. On Friday February 7 at about 4:52 PM, the Kennett (Station 24), Longwood, Avondale (Station 23) and Hockessin (DE Station 19) Fire Companies were dispatched to Scarlett Road near West South Street for a reported house fire. A little bit of luck saves Pennsbury business

On Friday February 7, 2014 at about noon, the Longwood Fire Company was dispatched to 512 Kennett Pike for an odor investigation inside. The address is home to a business that operates in an old 2.5 story house. The original 911 caller stated the interior of the business smelled like smoke but they weren't sure where it was coming from. Engine 25-1 made the response and arrived with nothing showing. ... 700blk Unionville Rd: East Marlborough Township

Longwood Fire Company, December 30

In the early afternoon the Company was alerted to assist Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company with a house fire.

Chief 36 responded and was advised of fire in the duct work of the home.

Ladder 25 (Bisson) responded with 6 and was the first arriving fire suppression unit and was instructed to back into the driveway. Ladder 25 backed into position, deployed portable ladders and began opening up the exterior wall. ... (Full Story & Photos)
