| On Wednesday, April 14th, a serious vehicle accident was reported on Greenwood Road, in the area of the Greenwood Elementary School. Initial reports indicated that a vehicle was on it's side with one patient to be checked for injuries.
MICU 25 arrived on scene first and confirmed the reports and that all occupants were out of the vehicle. Assistant Chief McCarthy and Deputy Chief Bisson arrived on scene shortly thereafter, McCarthy assuming "Greenwood Road Command".
Crews from the Rescue squad stabilized the vehicle and contained the leaking fluids. Fire Police from Longwood and Kennett Fire Co closed Greenwood Road from Rt 1 to Hillendale Road for the duration of the incident. One patient was transported to Christiana Hospital. |
