| In the early morning hours Sunday Longwood Fire Company was alerted to the report of a vehicle overturned at the intersection of Rte 1 and Lenape Rd. Upon arrival the MICU crew confirmed 1 trapped and advised the County radio to upgrade the assignment. Assistant Chief (Ruoss) responded in the Duty vehicle and established Rte 1 Command. Upon arrival Rescue 25's (LaBare) crew began to stabilize the car which was in a drainage ditch. Once complete they began to remove the doors and the B post on the passenger side of the car. Engine 25-2 (Stalford) arrived and began working on the driver's side doors. Engine 25-1 (Shone) arrived and supplemented the crews. 14 minutes after the Rescues' arrival the patient was extricated and on their way to the ambulance. Crews remained on the scene until the State police finished investigating and returned to service around 5am. |
