On Monday December 2, 2013 during the morning rush hour, the LFC was dispatched to the Wawa Food Store on East Baltimore Pike for a reported trailer fire. Crews arrived to find a trailer carrying lawn equipment fully involved. Fortunately, the vehicle pulling the trailer was able to move it to a safe location (away from the gas pumps) and drop the trailer before it consumed both vehicles. Engine 25-1 (Reese) arrived, established their own water supply and extinguished the fire. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, the Engine crew used foam to blanket the smoldering equipment to prevent any additional flare ups.
Units:	Engine 25-1, MICU 25-1, MICU 25-2, Utility 25

The contents of the trailer were a total loss.

Firefighter Bas de Vries applies foam to the smoldering trailer under the supervision of Career FF/EMT Dave Reese.

Engineer Paul Dawson operates the pump panel on Engine 25-1.

Firefighter Brad Bowman assists the operations with 5 gallons buckets of Class A foam.

Engine 25-1 used the hydrant at the corner of the driveway into Wawa and Route 1 to establish a constant flow of water.

Another action shot of FF de Vries. FF de Vries recently graduated from the Chester County DES Fire Academy, earning his Firefighter 1 certification.

Crews arrived to find the trailer fully involved.
