At 1550hrs the first alarm assignment consisting of LFC, New Castle County Sta 25 (Talleyville) for 3 engines, NCC Sta 19 (Hockessin) for a tanker and ambulance, and Sta. 36 (Po-Mar-Lin) for a tanker to 1524 Fairville Rd in Pennsbury Township for a Barn Fire. Deputy 25 (Ruoss) went responding and was advised of numerous calls reporting a well involved fire. With the information, Deputy 25 requested the working fire dispatch and Sta. 24 (Kennett) for the full company. Moments later Deputy 25 arrived on location and reported a 150ft x 50ft with a 2 story attached workshop with heavy fire showing and established the Fairville Rd Command. E-25-1 arrived a dropped a 5" supply line from Fairville Rd. E-25-1 (Cressman) deployed a 2.5" blitz line and an 1.75" attack line and stopped the extension into the workshop. Ladder 25 and Rescue 25 arrived and began to stretch additional lines and began to open up the work shop. A tanker task force was dispatched due to lack of fire hydrants in the immediate area.

After an extensive operation, the fire was placed under control at 1752hrs. Units remained on location until 2028hrs hitting hot spots and mopping up.

Thanks for Tanker 49 and E-39-3 for covering our first due area.
