At 1845hrs while crews were in the station racking the hose loads on E-25-1 which had just returned from Glick, a former member and neighbor called the firehouse with an unusual request. Apparently his pet Falcon had flown to a tree on the property and became entangled on a branch. The concerned owner stated that falcon was approx 40ft off the ground and that if the falcon hung from the branch it would suffocate itself in a matter of minutes.

Always willing to help, the Ladder with a crew of 6 quickly responded. After speaking with the owner it was best determined to travel into the field and have one of our members use a towel to retrieve the falcon. As luck would have it, one of the men on the truck has previous experience with a bird rescue organization. After a few minutes of finesse, the falcon was freed and returned to his owner.

Units cleared the scene at 1930hrs.
