| Today, the Longwood Fire Company and Po Mar Lin Fire Company attended the Unionville Elementary School's Health Fair. MICU 25-1 and MICU 25-2 attended the event along with a Rescue and a Tac unit from Station 36 to allow the personnel from the two fire companies to communicate with the children about what it takes to become firefighters and emergency medical service personnel. Several groups of students accompanied by their teachers were allowed to rotate through several stations checking out the Engine and the two MICUs. The crews explained what it takes to become a firefighter or EMT, and what it is like to be in the Emergency Services Field. The students were allowed to see and touch the equipment that we use on calls every day. The crews answered many eager questions by the students and fun was had by all. Thanks to the Unionville Elementary School staff and students for allowing both the Po Mar Lin Fire Company and the Longwood Fire Company the opportunity to provide the students a look into the field of Emergency Services. |
