| At 2150hrs the rescue assignment was dispatched for one trapped in the area of Rt. 926 (Street Rd) and Brinton's Bridge Rd. Rescue Squad 25 (McCarthy) and Micu 25-3 responded and were advised of a two vehicle accident, head on, with one still inside the vehicle.
Micu 25-3 arrived and reported two vehicles on the bridge confirming one trapped. Rescue 25 arrived and took a blocking position just west of the scene. Capt. 25 (McCarthy) established Street Rd Command. Crews had to deal with heavy rain and a large amount of fluid causing a slip hazard for all personnel involved. The Rescue crew removed both driver side doors, the driver side "B" post, the passenger front door and flapped the roof to the passenger side to remove the patient. Extrication was completed at 2226hrs.
Micu 25-3 transported one patient to Christiana Trauma Center.
Units cleared the scene at 2330hrs. |
