For the past few years the active membership, new and old, have been working towards obtaining National Certifications in a variety of disciplines. The Pa State Fire Commissioner's office instituted a voluntary recognition program for PA fire departments that meet a certain percentage for being certified in classes with a national curriculum. The classes could be Firefighter I (150hrs), Firefighter II (120hrs), Pumper/Driver Operator (40hrs) and many more.

In October 2009, Fire Chief Matt Ruoss and Capt. A.J. McCarthy completed the required paperwork and submitted the packet to the State Fire Academy for approval. On Nov 19th the company received notification that we were awarded a certificate for being 75% certified to the national curriculum. We are only 1 of approx 20 companies that have received their 75% certification. Each fire apparatus will have a seal affixed on each side to show our community the committment we have endured to maintain a highly educated and experienced crew.

The Officers would like to thank each member for taking the time to obtain their respective certifications and assisting us with obtaining this recognition.
