Why Volunteer?
It’s 1 a.m.; the smoke alarm sounds. You quickly round up the family and pets and head to safety while calling 911 on your cell phone. As you stand surrounded by your loved ones watching the fire engines arrive, you’re grateful you had a plan, you’re grateful you had practiced . . . you’re grateful when told that the fire is out and the damage is minimal.
But what would happen if no one responded to your call?
Longwood Fire Company is located in southern Chester County Pennsylvania, and proudly serves the residents in both our primary area and our mutual aid response area. We operate out of one station and provide ambulance, fire, and rescue services to the multitude of homes, churches, shopping centers, and businesses already in existence. With the rapidly expanding community, we urgently need your help.
Volunteer Incentive Program
We are excited to introduce a new Volunteer Incentive Program designed to reward the dedicated men and women who respond regularly to calls and staff the station when career staff are not on duty. With the appropriate certifications, volunteers enrolled in this program can make up to $10,000 per year while serving their community. Eligible members of the program must be a qualified "Interior Firefighter", meaning a person who is certified to work in an immediately dangerous to life or health (IDHL) environment. There are even bonuses for trainings and leadership positions! If interested, email gratliff@longwoodfireco.com for more information or stop in the station to talk to our team.
